The Lafayette area Magna-Dry dealership began operations in 1985 in the home of owner / operator Rob Kochon & his wife Carol. At that time, the services were limited to carpet & upholstery cleaning; Carol ran the office while also caring for their children and Rob did all the estimates and cleaning by himself. As the business began to grow, Rob was able to hire one cleaning technician to help him and a part time secretary to help in the office. Then, in 1987 Rob was able to rent a warehouse with office space and hired a full-time secretary. In 1996 after years of continued business growth, Rob was able to purchase a building and move all operations to the current location – 725 Navco Drive in Lafayette. By that time, Magna-Dry had expanded its services to include cleaning of fine/oriental rugs, water damage restoration and fire damage restoration in addition to the carpet & upholstery cleaning.
Over the years, Magna-Dry has provided cleaning and restoration services to a broad range of the population of Tippecanoe and surrounding counties…from the largest, most opulent homes to Purdue campus apartments, from hospitals and nursing homes to interiors of RV’s and airplanes!
Magna-Dry’s motto continues to be “The most pleasant cleaning experience you’ll ever have” which starts with the initial phone call from a customer, continues through the cleaning process, and ends with a follow-up phone call to ensure the customer is completely satisfied. The professional and courteous staff (which now includes Rob’s son-in-law Brian Wiegers as general operations manager, two office assistants, and four full-time, IICRC certified cleaning & restoration technicians) accepts nothing less than a fantastic customer experience.
